It's only a few hours left and then I'm back to Singapore for ... I don't know how long. Previous years I knew about how many times I'd travel to each continent, but now, all I know is I'll be home in December. I just hope it won't be too long, since frustrating as it may be to go back to my teenage life, it is nice to do. For one brief, shining moment, I thought I'd found my tape with the 1971 made-for-TV movie Earth II on it, but I was tragically mistaken. I know it was at the end of a tape with a logically matched movie on it, but I don't know which. I did find my copy of the 1974 made-for-TV Houston, We've Got A Problem, telling the story of Apollo 13 not from the view of the astronauts, and with no scenes from the spacecraft.
In scenic Millville, New Jersey, which is in Very South Jersey, below the latitude of the Mason-Dixon line, this year's Wheels and Wings Airshow for Armed Forces Weekend is to include -- and I'm quoting the newspaper article carefully here -- ``a huge line-up of air and ground action, including a reenactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor, complete with pyrotechnics.'' Servicemen are admitted free.
Unfortunately I lost the advertisement, but some central Jersey tourist-type attraction got an otter and is looking for a name for it. It wasn't clear if they meant an otter mascot, or a living example of Garden State otterdom.
