Losing track of word and meter

The goldfish has died, as we'd expected to happen.

Still, I didn't miss the humor blog this week, publishing this stuff:

And some more puttering around Pinball At The Zoo. We're nearing the end:

Lower playfield of cocktail pinball Night Moves, the rare game you really ought to play while sitting. From the era when pinball artists felt very unsteady unless there were a woman's nipple outlined somewhere in every square foot of playfield.

Gottlieb's 1979 Count-Down, showcasing bunny_hugger's second-favorite pinball artist, Gordon Morison, leader of the ``smiley people in space'' school of backglass art.

Putting some of the pinball tables away, as they weren't needed any longer for qualifying or finals. Judge Dredd is already folded up and wrapped up; The Flintstones is being folded up, here.

A shot I'm actually not sure how I did. But an action shot of Genesis, showing off the little Machine Maria figure visible if you've collected all the body parts that the major shots of the game offer. The ultimate goal of the game.

Finals took a long time to play out. This was a couple hours after the official close of the show, with nearly everybody having packed up and moved out, and people were still playing.

Trivia: On the 18th of April, 1760, fire broke out at the 'Oyl Shop' adjacent to the St Magnus church on London Bridge. The fire burned down the vestry room, most of the church's roof, and the organ. The parish was billed £2 3s 9d for the fire engines. Source: Old London Bridge: The Story of the Longest Inhabited Bridge in Europe, Patricia Pierce.
