If it's the last thing we ever do

No one has ever escaped from Stalag 13, again, except in every story in which this fact is mentioned.

I'm not saying there's a specific connection here. I'm just kind of wondering if we know what Bob Crane and Werner Klemperer were up to forty years ago on Earth 2. (I'm pretty sure it was Earth 2 in which all the characters were 20 years older than in the main timeline, so our 1960s were their 1940s and all. If not, it was another Earth-N that covered it.) At the very least there's the room for a most confused crossover story.

If you're curious about my Victoria game, which I haven't had much time to play this week, after France left its allied involvement in the US Civil War, it did end up at war with Prussia, though I missed the specific incident causing it. However, France, primed by its experience at war with England, beat back Prussia (despite the Commune rising briefly in Paris) and occupied Brandenberg-Prussia, but with neither France nor Prussia gaining allies, neither could progress one bit, and the war dragged out nearly a decade without any further substantial action. They settled for a return to the status quo at the cost of -- well, the game doesn't tell you how many people get killed in wars, so I can't say how many lives this nothing cost. While Germany hasn't unified, I can't say I'm not expecting more trouble soon.

Trivia: Before Johann Heinrich Rahn used (in 1659) the ÷ symbol to mean division, it had been popular as a symbol for subtraction. Source: A History of Mathematical Notations, Florian Cajori.

Though an amusement park Michigan's Adventure isn't really a theme park. It's had just the one area with a discernable theme, the generic Old West…

  • Time may change me

How little can I do in my mathematics blog and still have a mathematics blog? Yes, it was another week when I posted only one thing and that was…
