And I can do the twist

Down at the nearby shopping center for dinner and miscellaneous groceries I found they're holding a marathon line dance session. Three dozen or so folks tried to dance that classic line-dance anthem, Baby Love.

I dismissed that as just the luck of the draw and window-shopped, finding marvels like a laserdisc from the cartoon The Mask (based on the Jim Carrey movie, not the masked crusaders working overtime fighting crime). I also spotted a trio of teenage girls waiting in the two slow-moving lines at Kentucky Fried Chicken. As one tired of her line, another came to take her place, so they kept trading like up and down quarks swapping gluons. As I realized I had drawn a blatantly flawed metaphor between quantum chromodynamics and line-waiting I noticed the line dancers had moved on to that toe-tapping Lion King classic, The Circle Of Life.

Plainly, the marathon was a test not only of physical endurance, but of what dancers' minds would not rebel when asked to line dance to the completely undanceable. I had to leave, though, so I didn't get to see if anyone stuck it out through the soundtrack to Brother Bear or maybe the Beatles' Within You Without You.

What's on television tonight? For me, Mystery Science Theater 3000's Danger!! Death Ray, a Europeany story of spies, intrigue, and death rays. Also I noticed the Powell's coupon is for a whole order, not a single item, and am adjusting plans.
