Come to this house

Yeah, had a little embarrassment for my mathematics blog this past week, so here's what the standings there look like:

But now I'm hopeful things will take a more correct turn soon.

Given that, how about a nice bundle of pictures from the Turner-Dodge House?

A page explaining the music and related furnishings in the ballroom, including a circa 1880s organ, a circa 1850s piano, and a settee dated ``circa 1850s-1865s''. (1865s?)

The 1880s organ, closed up so we can't break it. I notice what looks like a little plate to set your drink on, though, on the right of the keyboard.

A Lansing Mich souvenir, along with other antiquities like playing cards and ashtrays and ... West Virginia pilsner ... set atop a dresser.

``Old Town Clocks'', Est 1863, taking credit for this old alarm clock. It might be vintage or they might have just bought it only for $32.99. It's possible those were not vintage West Virginia pilsners either.

Looking out over the piano, from the corner with those tchotchkes, at the overall ballroom layout.

Oooh! They did not have the photo carousel set up, but we appreciated that they had the carrying case and a box of slides at least.

Going back down through the house again. Here's a nice little tree with a doll topper from the girls' bedroom.

And a picture from the girl's bedroom, ``The Evening Song''. Could not make out the artist name or other information, though. We discussed some what parts of the scene were indoors and what parts outside.

The books in the girls' bedroom.
