Let him chauffeur us, while we have our fun

I fixed that title on my mathematics blog. And posted some new comic strip-related material. Here's the recent writing over on that blog:

And in my quest to say more about the King Features Popeye cartoons than any other person ever has, here's a review of 60s Popeye: Disguise the Limit, somehow *not* Private Eye Popeye. I liked this one.

Let's see some lovely stuff at Cedar Point, from our trip just before Anthrohio.

The Snoopy Boutique, which has been at the park since Peanuts took over what had been a Berenstain Bears license, was getting renovated into the all-new store ... Peanuts At The Point. The new store wasn't open yet, so I grabbed some pictures of it in its transitional state. I'm not clear how Peanuts At The Point could be that different from the Snoopy Boutique. Anyway, note (flanking the doors) a 1990s Peanuts strip where Lucy behaves really bafflingly but, yeah, does look good in that dress and necklace and all.

That Midas-touched gryphon is still at Iron Dragon, the traditional home. We really expected him to be moved to GateKeeper and have never heard a reason why he wasn't.

You can see the exit stairs for Iron Dragon in the background here.

I didn't remember noticing the manufacturer's mark on the front of the statue, so took a couple pictures. I probably rediscover this and take this picture every time I visit the park.

Here's the statue seen from the Iron Dragon station, in full and lovely sunlight.

And here's Cedar Downs, the racing carousel!
