People play games

I spotted at lunch today a person with a ``Biolympics'' T-shirt. From the supporting text I gather it was some sort of athletic competition among the various bioscence departments. Underneath the left of the Biolympics name they had a rather cute rabbit, curled up and napping; on the far right was a turtle, chugging along, jogging and smoking a fat cigar.

The biochemical implications are staggering, at least.

In the mirrors in the elevator I noticed a spot under my eyes ... gleaming, little a little mirrored drop. I have no idea how this could be. There was a tiny mist of rain today (it's been quite the heat wave lately), but that was a few hours before I saw the spot. I have no supply of glitter anything. I've handled no broken glass in months, and haven't painted anything in over a month, and that with flat gray rather than silvery paint. What would make a nice, bright pinpoint reflection underneath my left eye I can't imagine. I don't suppose I'm turning silver.

Trivia: The first non-Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup was the Seattle Metropolitans, in 1917. Source: The New York Public Library Desk Reference, Paul Fargis, Sheree Bykofsky. I also note the Stanley Cup is the only major sports trophy I know of that isn't so gaudy as to be embarrassing to have around. And 1918 winner Toronto Arenas have possibly the only name worse than the 1914 Toronto Ontarios. 1903-05 Ottawa Silver Seven sound like superheroes, support staff for Captain Canuck.
