I know a beach where, baby, it never ends

My desire not to spend so much time away from bunny_hugger so close to Christmas --- and the plan to go back east around New Year's anyway --- meant I didn't leave time to spare for sightseeing or just hanging around or anything like that. It was just the four days away, plus the travel days on either end.

I am a bit disappointed in this, partly because it's meant I missed people. My sister, notably, was visiting east again during the latter part of the week, but we just didn't have the time to meet up. Some online friends also hoped to see me, but again, no time. Not enough days, and of those I had, too many of them saw me working late trying to get the new technology installed, or getting access to the new data set we needed and that we thought our technology partner understood we needed three weeks ago. That's been a long series of extremely redundant conversations that never seemed to get anywhere and will surely inspire a humor piece or just some kicking of walls later on.

Still, there's some good news from out east: the Silverball Museum has opened up again! As I had predicted, their early hopes to be open again in ``mid to late November'' were delayed, but they got to open around the 13th or 14th. I missed the grand reopening, but at least according to their web site they didn't lose any of the pinball machines. It was just repair work, particularly on the electrical system. I'm looking forward to getting to see the place, even if the Boardwalk isn't there yet.
