Baby you can drive my car
The month ended a week ago, at least as reasonable airdates for The Price Is Right go, but I hadn't had the chance to catch up on all these statistics to track until now. For the episodes airing between the 3rd of December and the 28th of December --- which has one skipped day; the show took Christmas off for some reason --- here's the results of the Showcase Showdown spinning:
| First | Second | Third | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Month | 15 | 26 | 6 |
| Season | 46 | 51 | 41 |
I hesitate to suggest there's any statistical significance here, but this was a lousy month to be the third spinner, and it's not much of a good season for one either. As far as the lowest winning spin goes, well, nothing changed this past month. That'll happen.
| No Overspins | One Overspin | Two Overspins | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo Win | 65 | 45 | 40 |
| Tied Win | 80 | 95 | - |
| Triple Tie | - | - | - |
Sorry it's kind of a dull month for these reports, but I suppose they all kind of are, really.
Trivia: The world produced 5 billion units of penicillin in 1943. In 1944 it produced 300 billion units, enough to treat approximately a half-million people per month. Source: Molecules At An Exhibition: The Science Of Everyday Life, John Emsley.
